REACH of Macon County and the Center for Domestic Peace of Jackson County Unite!

 The re-opening of the Sylva office has become a reality thanks to a collaborative effort between REACH of Macon County and the Center for Domestic Peace in Jackson County!

These two local non-profit organizations have joined forces with one goal in mind...eradicate Domestic Violence in our community through prevention, intervention, and education.

We are excited to announce our NEWLY Renovated Jackson County Office Space at 26 Ridgeway Street in Sylva, located beside the Library (also known as the Old Courthouse) is NOW OPEN!


We are pleased to announce that we have staff in the Sylva office available Monday through Friday for walk-ins:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9am-5pm
  • Wednesday 9am-1pm
  • Or by appointment any day of the week.

We offer the same services for Jackson County residents as we do for Macon County residents. If you need to speak with a Victim's Advocate in Jackson County you can contact either office for an appointment.

Jackson County Emergency Services:

24 Hour Crisis Line- Confidential assistance is available 24 Hours a day to victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. You can connect to the crisis/hotline by dialing (828) 369-5544 for the Macon County REACH office, (828) 586-8969 for the Jackson County REACH office, or dialing 911 and ask to be connected to a Victim Advocate from REACH.

Emergency Shelter- Shelter is available for victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. The shelter is in Macon County but also serves victims from Jackson County. The shelter provides a safe residence and support for victims and their minor children.

Rape Crisis Companions- Crisis intervention, emotional support, medical and law enforcement information is available to victims of rape/sexual assault. The Rape Crisis Companion will accompany the victim every step of the way, making sure all their needs are met.

Court Advocate- A Court Advocate is available to assist victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault that want to pursue legal action. They will provide information and support such has assisting with paperwork and accompanying the victim to court.
